SunTek Film Options Built for Phoenix Heat

Our Phoenix selection includes several SunTek film types — each designed to manage the Valley’s scorching summers and strong solar intensity. All options protect your interior, reduce glare, and enhance driving comfort.

Ceramic Tint
SunTek’s ceramic film delivers the highest level of heat rejection available without using metallic materials. It blocks the majority of infrared energy — the primary source of cabin heat — while maintaining full clarity and zero interference with Bluetooth, GPS, toll transponders, or satellite radio. For Phoenix drivers who park outdoors, sit in stop-and-go traffic, or drive long commutes under direct sun, ceramic tint provides the most comfortable experience available. It is our most popular choice and the film we recommend for nearly every vehicle in the Valley.

Carbon Tint
SunTek’s carbon film provides strong UV protection and excellent color stability that will not fade or turn purple over time, even under constant Arizona sun exposure. Carbon tint offers a clean matte finish that enhances the look of your vehicle while blocking a meaningful amount of heat and glare. It is an excellent choice for drivers who want long-lasting performance and a refined appearance at a mid-range price point.

Entry-Level Tint
For drivers looking for basic shade, privacy, and UV protection at an affordable price, our entry-level dyed films offer solid performance for the cost. While they do not reject as much heat as ceramic or carbon films, they still block harmful UV rays and reduce glare. This option is popular with customers on a budget or those tinting a secondary vehicle.

Windshield Heat-Reduction Film
SunTek’s clear ceramic windshield film blocks a significant portion of infrared heat and UV rays without changing the appearance of your windshield. It is fully legal in Arizona, does not create mirror distortion, and dramatically improves daytime driving comfort — especially during Phoenix’s hottest months. This is one of the most underutilized upgrades we offer and one of the most impactful for daily comfort.

Specialty Tinting
We handle complex installations including panoramic roofs, oversized truck rear windows, curved SUV glass, Tesla model-specific cuts, and full-vehicle applications for luxury and exotic cars. Our computerized cutting system ensures precision on every shape and size, and our technicians have experience with virtually every make and model on the road.

Why Phoenix Drivers Need Window Tint

Phoenix’s extreme climate puts more stress on your vehicle — and your comfort — than almost any other major city in the country. With over 299 sunny days per year, summer temperatures regularly exceeding 115°, and vehicle interior surfaces that can climb past 150° when parked, quality window tint is not a luxury in the Valley. It is a necessity.

Dramatically Cooler Cabin Temperatures
Ceramic window tint blocks infrared energy, which is the primary source of cabin heat. This means your vehicle’s interior stays significantly cooler even after sitting in a Phoenix parking lot. You will notice the difference the moment you get in — less scorching seats, a cooler steering wheel, and a cabin that does not feel like an oven. During long stop-and-go commutes when the sun is hitting your windows at sharp angles, ceramic tint maintains consistent heat rejection and comfort.

UV Protection for Your Interior
Arizona’s intense UV exposure causes leather, dashboards, displays, and stitching to fade, crack, and deteriorate far faster than in milder climates. SunTek ceramic and carbon films block up to 99% of harmful UV rays, preserving the condition and appearance of your vehicle’s interior. This protection extends the life of your upholstery, reduces cracking on dashboards, and helps maintain your vehicle’s resale value over time.

Better Fuel and Battery Efficiency
When your vehicle’s cabin is cooler, your air conditioning does not have to work as hard. For gas-powered vehicles, this means less fuel burned running the A/C during Phoenix’s hottest months. For electric vehicles and hybrids, it means less battery drain dedicated to cooling the interior — extending your range and reducing charging frequency. With EV adoption growing rapidly across the Valley, tint is becoming one of the smartest efficiency upgrades available.

Reduced Glare and Eye Strain
Phoenix’s midday sun and reflective asphalt create intense glare that causes eye fatigue, especially on long commutes along the I-10, I-17, Loop 101, and Loop 202. Window tint softens incoming light without darkening your view, reducing strain on your eyes and making daily driving more comfortable and safer.

Greater Privacy and Security
Tinted windows offer privacy for passengers and valuables inside your vehicle. In a busy metro area like Phoenix, this added privacy can discourage break-ins by preventing passersby from seeing bags, electronics, or other items left in your car. Darker tint on rear and side windows also provides a more comfortable environment for rear-seat passengers, especially children.

Long-Term Durability in Extreme Heat
Phoenix’s extreme temperatures cause low-quality tint to bubble, peel, fade, and lose clarity within months. The rapid temperature swings between sun-baked parking lots and cooled garages make this even worse — cheaper films expand and contract unevenly, leading to distortion and adhesive failure. SunTek’s ceramic and carbon films are engineered to resist these stresses, which is why they remain stable, clear, and bubble-free for years. Combined with our lifetime warranty, your investment is protected for as long as you own your vehicle.

Arizona Tint Laws

Arizona law regulates how dark your window tint can be based on Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). Here is what you need to know before scheduling your installation:

Windshield: Non-reflective tint is permitted above the manufacturer’s AS-1 line (typically the top 5 inches). Below that line, the windshield must remain clear. SunTek’s clear ceramic windshield film is fully compliant and legal.

Front Side Windows: Must allow more than 33% of visible light through. This means the darkest legal tint on your driver and passenger windows is 35% VLT, which still provides meaningful heat rejection, UV protection, and a noticeable visual upgrade.

Rear Side Windows: Any darkness is permitted. You can go as dark as 5% VLT (limo tint) on rear passenger windows.

Rear Window: Any darkness is permitted, provided your vehicle has dual side mirrors (which virtually all modern vehicles do).

Reflectivity: Front and rear side windows cannot exceed 35% reflectivity. Mirror-like or highly reflective tints are not legal.

Restricted Colors: Red and amber tint colors are prohibited under Arizona law.

Medical Exemptions: Arizona does allow darker front window tint for drivers with qualifying medical conditions such as lupus or photosensitivity. A licensed physician must provide documentation, and the exemption must be approved by the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT).

Our team ensures every installation complies with Arizona law. We will walk you through your options and help you choose the right VLT for every window on your vehicle.

Pair Your Tint with Additional Protection

Many of our Phoenix tinting customers choose to add complementary services at the same time for maximum protection and convenience.

Paint Protection Film (PPF) shields your vehicle’s paint from rock chips, road debris, and scratches — ideal for Phoenix freeways and construction zones. PPF and window tint together provide the most complete exterior protection available.

Ceramic Coating bonds to your vehicle’s clear coat, creating a durable hydrophobic layer that repels dust, dirt, and UV damage. Paired with window tint, your vehicle stays cooler, cleaner, and better protected year-round.

Residential Window Tinting — if you are tinting your car to escape the Phoenix heat, your home windows could use the same treatment. SunTek architectural films reduce interior temperatures, block UV damage to furniture and flooring, and lower cooling costs.

Just got my brand new Tesla Model Y Juniper tinted by Clear View Glass & Tint and I’m seriously impressed. They were amazing to work with, answered all my questions, and made sure everything came out exactly how I wanted. I was really particular about matching the front to the factory rear tint, and they got it perfect.

This is the second vehicle I had tinted and Clear View. I purchased an older Cherokee that never had window tint installed and I couldn’t imagine driving it in the summer like that. I met with the tech and we discussed options at my 7:30 drop-off. I decided to go with the ceramic tint to reduce heat since there are so many windows and I’m not disappointed. It’s definitely cooler in the vehicle and it’ll protect the near-perfect interior. Streeter was the tech that did the install and his professionalism and attention to detail were top notch.

Frequently Asked Questions About Auto Window Tinting in Phoenix

Considering window tint for your vehicle? We have answered the most common questions Phoenix drivers ask about our SunTek film options, Arizona tint laws, and what to expect during installation. Still have questions? Call us at 480-656-0432 for personalized answers.

Phoenix gets more direct UV hours than almost any U.S. city, which means lower-quality films degrade faster here than anywhere else. We recommend SunTek ceramic film for maximum heat rejection, UV protection, and long-term durability in Phoenix’s extreme climate. Ceramic film blocks infrared energy — the primary source of cabin heat — and will not bubble, fade, or peel under prolonged sun exposure.

Arizona law requires front side windows to allow more than 33% of visible light through, so 35% VLT is the darkest legal option for your driver and passenger windows. Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be tinted to any darkness, including 5% VLT (limo tint). Non-reflective tint is allowed on the windshield above the AS-1 line.

Yes. Ceramic window tint helps shield in-car displays, navigation screens, and electronic components from UV and heat-related deterioration. This is especially relevant for newer vehicles with large center touchscreens and digital instrument clusters that are exposed to direct sunlight through the windshield and side windows.

Yes. We provide fleet-grade SunTek tinting designed for durability and consistent heat rejection across large vehicle groups. Fleet installations can be completed at our shop or through mobile service at your business location. Contact us for volume pricing.

No. SunTek ceramic films do not contain metallic materials and will not interfere with GPS, Bluetooth, satellite radio, toll transponders, or keyless entry systems. This is one of the key advantages of ceramic over older metallic-based films.

Arizona does allow medical exemptions for drivers with qualifying conditions such as lupus or photosensitivity. You will need documentation from a licensed physician and approval from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Our team can walk you through the process and recommend the appropriate film for your exemption.

Ceramic films with higher infrared blocking perform best for long, slow commutes where heat builds quickly through side windows. For Phoenix drivers who spend significant time on the I-10, I-17, Loop 101, or Loop 202 during peak hours, we recommend SunTek’s highest-tier ceramic film for maximum comfort.
Yes. With less infrared heat entering the cabin, your electric vehicle uses less battery power to cool the interior. This directly extends your driving range and reduces charging frequency — a meaningful benefit for Tesla, Rivian, BMW, and other EV owners across the Valley.
SunTek ceramic and carbon films are designed to last the lifetime of your vehicle when professionally installed. Every installation at Clear View is backed by our lifetime warranty on both materials and workmanship. If your tint ever bubbles, peels, fades, or discolors, we will replace it at no cost.
Most vehicles are completed same-day, typically within 2–4 hours depending on the number of windows and complexity of the glass. We recommend allowing a full morning or afternoon appointment. Your vehicle is ready to drive as soon as the installation is complete, though we recommend keeping windows up for 3–5 days to allow the adhesive to fully cure.
Yes. Every window tint installation at Clear View Glass & Tint is backed by a lifetime warranty covering bubbling, peeling, fading, discoloration, and adhesive failure. If anything goes wrong with your tint for as long as you own the vehicle, we will make it right at no charge.
